Those of us who work from home aren’t sitting around thinking that we’re better than our corporate counterparts. Instead, we’re thinking that we’re glad we don’t have a daily commute, an annoying boss looming over our shoulder and a co-worker who ignores the fact that although an office chair is stacked with papers to keep people from sitting down, she sits down to chat anyway.
For those of you who want to trade your corporate office for a home office at least one day a week but can’t convince your boss to let you work from home, the infographic below, created by Splashtop, is the perfect ammunition. Maybe now you can talk your boss into telecommuting, starting with Work From Home Friday.

Hmm. Love the infographic. Not sure all the data is correct, but it’s certainly on the right track.
Let’s see how many folks can use this to win that one day of respite from the “Commuter Caramba”

Commuter Caramba…I like that! On the rare mornings I need to jump on the highway, I make sure I schedule my trip before or after rush hour. It seems to help a little.

Hi Lisa,
Powerful infographic Lisa!
I can’t even imagine the time I spent on commuting for many years. For a bit – 2 years, I should say – I trekked a 49 mile commute…each way!
If you are ready to be free AND prepared to embrace the responsibilities which come with the freedoms start working from home today…or at least research work at home opportunities.
Now, home is Vietnam. It’s been Bali, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Laos and Cambodia over the last 17 months. I feel blessed to live the internet lifestyle but I also paid the price of working intelligently and persistently over many months, as did you Lisa.
Thanks for sharing…and good to be back!

Nice to hear from you, Ryan! There’s no doubt that a 49 mile commute each way is now a memory.
Freedom is the perfect word to describe those of us who work from home…many of whom couldn’t imagine going back to the corporate world or a daily commute. There are many reputable opportunities to work from home. Finding the right one is the challenge, but definitely worth the search.

Hi Lisa,
I practice work-from-home Wednesdays because it breaks up the week for me and I never have to commute more that two days in a row. It really gives me a break in the middle of the week!
Best,
Bob
